Law School Admissions Trends:
2003 Sponsored by Law Preview If you've decided to go to a law school as a way to wait out the nation's foundering economy, you're not alone. The economy is being blamed for the stiff competition applicants are facing for acceptance to the class of 2006, and those already in law school point to the weak economy for the lack of job offers at private law firms.

Need help with your financial aid forms?
If you have been accepted to school, you're now faced with the next round of forms to fill out: the Financial Aid forms. In order to be considered for any type of Federally-funded financial aid, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (affectionately known as the FAFSA). In addition, if you go to a private school or even some public schools, you may also be asked to fill out the CSS/PROFILE form, which the school will use to consider aid that it will distribute.

A Nuts and Bolts Overview of the First Year of Law School:
You'll almost certainly spend the first week of your law student existence immersed in a fairly comprehensive orientation process. Schools will invariably announce that attending orientation is mandatory even though - just between us - it isn't. Still, there are several reasons why it's a good idea to show up.

Law school orientation is basically a day camp designed to facilitate your transition into the academic and social life of a law student. It provides some valuable illumination concerning the challenges that lie ahead. Just as importantly, orientation provides opportunities to schmooze and mingle with the classmates, professors, and staff members you'll spend the next three years with.
